Arborist – A general term for anyone who specializes in tree care or tree services. The term does not specify any particular level of competency.
ISA Certified Arborist – Because we are ISA certified, you can trust we have the most accurate knowledge to properly care for your trees. Our mission is to provide you with tree care solutions that will improve the health and longevity of your trees. Our training and knowledge, backed by the ISA credential, empower us to do just that.
An arborist must be trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of arboriculture in order to earn the ISA Certified Arborist® credential. Altitude Arborist has met all of the requirements for the credential, which includes three or more years of full-time, eligible, practical work experience in arboriculture. We are honored to uphold the code of ethics for ISA Certified Arborists, which strengthens our credibility and reliability in the field.
Tree Removal – We own a bucket truck with a 65 foot reach to aid us in the removal of trees where access is adequate. We have arborists on staff capable of hand-climbing trees in more remote areas of the landscape where our bucket truck cannot be utilized and the tree is safe to climb and remove.
Stump Grinding – If a customer would like to see the entire tree removed including the stump we can accommodate that! We can grind any size stump. Generally stumps are ground 6-8 inches below the surrounding landscape grade. For many stumps, the grinding will remove a majority of the root ball and some of the lateral roots. The location where stump grinding is completed can usually be relandscaped and possibly replanted with a tree or shrub, but we generally do not recommend replanting a large tree where the previous tree was removed.
Tree Pruning – At Altitude Arborist, we provide excellent tree pruning service to protect your trees and your property. Our experienced team performs high-quality tree pruning using best practices and following the arborist’s code of ethics. You can rest easy knowing your trees are well-cared for and maintained.
While pruning your trees, we also provide you with education, helping you understand how to care for your trees. With Altitude Arborist’s tree pruning services, you’ll gain strong, healthy trees and environmental education.
Cable and Bracing – In certain cases we may recommend that branches on a tree are braced, or cabled are installed in the canopy of a tree to increase support and minimize tree failure. Any time there is a cable or brace installed in a tree it must be regularly evaluated by a certified arborist to make sure the components are intact, properly installed and functioning.
Tree and Shrub Planting – We plant according to the International Society of Arboriculture’s best management practices including the proper hole depth and width, backfilling, staking and mulching. We help ensure planting success by applying a root stimulating fertilizer at the time of planting we recommend continued fertilization services for future growth. We take our planting seriously and feel it is our opportunity to give back to the environment.
Plant Health Care – It is important to take an integrated approach to plant health care which includes proper pruning and maintenance, proper fertilization, and if necessary, insect and disease control. We use treatments that are scientifically proven to target the pests impacting your landscape while minimizing the impact to the beneficial insects.
We do everything in our power to make sure we are diligent in protecting pollinators while completing our treatments. When possible, we utilize targeted systemic insecticides rather than spraying broad spectrum insecticides to avoid chemical contact with non target pests which can have unintended consequences.
Deep Root Feedings – We can help maintain established trees or help the successful establishment of new trees by providing the proper nutrition. We use a high-quality, long-lasting fertilizer formulated to increase soil microbial activity leading to a healthier soil profile and more plant-available nutrients. The healthier the soil, the healthier the tree!
Emerald Ash Borer Treatments – Our certified arborists can evaluate your ash trees and determine if Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is present. Not every tree is a good candidate for treatment against EAB, so it is important to evaluate each tree on a case by case basis. Treatments for EAB must be done either annually or every other year depending on the treatment performed.
Emergency Services – There is never a good time for a tree to fail, but unfortunately it does happen. Sometimes it’s a heavy spring snow, a strong wind event, or simply old age and decline that can cause a tree to fail. In the event of unexpected tree failure, we are here to help. Fill out the form.
