Our Story
Altitude Arborist was founded in 2016 by college sweethearts, Hunter and Megan Townsend. The idea for the company grew from their shared love of the outdoors and a desire to build a business rooted in environmental stewardship and community impact.
After earning his forestry degree from Colorado State University, Hunter worked for a tree care company in Fort Collins and later managed the State Forest in North Park, CO. When he and Megan relocated to Broomfield – Megan’s hometown – they saw an opportunity to build a tree care company that brought value to its employees, clients, and community.
With that vision, the Townsends launched Altitude Arborist with a clear mission: to provide science-backed tree care while investing in the people and environment around us. Megan continued her career as a physician assistant while helping shape the business behind the scenes. In 2021, she joined Altitude Arborist full time to support its growth and vision.
Today, Altitude Arborist has grown into a leading tree care company in Colorado. While our team has expanded, we remain proudly local and true to our roots. Our plant health care programs are carefully formulated to encourage soil health and biodiversity, support pollinators, and provide long-term value – to our clients, our ecosystem, and the community we love.
