Groundworker

When Hunter and Megan Townsend founded Altitude Arborist in 2016, they set out to build more than just a tree care company – they wanted to create a workplace that values its people and uplifts the community. That mission still drives us today. We’re proud to offer living wages, ongoing learning, and real opportunities for career growth to every member of our team.

Are you looking for a career that allows you to be active and outside everyday? Would you rather stay fit on the job rather than at the gym? Do you feel accomplished when you can see the results of your work? Do you get a thrill working with chainsaws, chippers and large equipment? Does the idea of spending your day swinging in the trees sound like your idea of a good time?

Then consider a career in arboriculture by becoming a crew member for Altitude Arborist – Advanced Tree Care.

If you are new to the tree care world, you will start on the ground, and work with the rest of the team to keep work areas clear and safe, learn to operate a chipper, support climbers by helping them with their ropes and rigging and move up to working with chainsaws to buck logs and start to learn pruning techniques from the ground. If you have a passion and desire to learn, we will turn you into an expert in the industry with opportunities to learn proper pruning, removal and climbing techniques.

If you already have experience, we will reward you for your experience and help you take it to the next level and add to any certifications you already have. And if you’re really good on the job, there is opportunity to grow into leadership positions and advance your career.

Make no mistake, this is physically demanding work and you’ll be exhausted at the end of each day, but if you’re like us, this is EXACTLY how you like to spend your days—working hard, outdoors in a beautiful setting with a GREAT crew of teammates. We stay busy with tree work year round, so you don’t have to worry about finding winter work like you might with other outdoor jobs.

And most importantly, you’ll be a part of an extraordinary team of individuals voted the winner of the Broomfield Gold Award for the last five years in a row and an annual NextDoor Neighborhood Favorite.

Pay depends on experience, with the top end of the range going to candidates with all our desired qualifications. We offer ample opportunity to increase your wage and grow professionally through in-house and outside training that we will pay for and pay you to complete!
